Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

By making a booking with Little Mess Makers, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Please also read the Indemnity prior to making bookings.

1. Bookings

Little Mess Makers offers sensory messy play sessions for children. Spaces are limited and bookings are subject to availability.

A booking request is not confirmed until payment has been received and verified by Little Mess Makers.

Submitting a booking through our booking system temporarily reserves the requested spaces while payment is being arranged.

2. Payment

All sessions are charged at the advertised rate per child.

Payment must be made by EFT using the banking details provided in your booking confirmation email.

Proof of payment (POP) must be sent to:

bookings@littlemessmakers.co.za

Your booking will remain pending until payment has been received and verified.

Little Mess Makers reserves the right to release a pending booking if payment or proof of payment is not received within the specified payment period.

Once payment has been verified, you will receive a confirmation email confirming that your child’s/children’s place(s) have been secured.

3. Limited Spaces & Minimum Attendance

Each session has a maximum number of children permitted.

Spaces are allocated on a first-confirmed, first-served basis.

A pending booking does not constitute a permanently secured place. If payment is not received within the required period, the booking may be cancelled and the spaces made available to other customers.

Little Mess Makers may require a minimum number of children to be booked for a session to proceed.

If the minimum required number of children is not reached by the relevant booking deadline, Little Mess Makers reserves the right to reschedule the session.

Where this occurs, customers who have already paid for that session will be automatically rescheduled to another available Little Mess Makers session.

Customers affected by an automatic rescheduling will be contacted by Little Mess Makers and provided with the available alternative session options.

The customer will not be required to make an additional payment where the booking is transferred to an alternative session of the same value.

4. Cancellations

Because Little Mess Makers operates sessions with limited capacity, cancellations may prevent us from filling the space with another customer.

Customers who wish to cancel a booking must contact Little Mess Makers as soon as reasonably possible at:

info@littlemessmakers.co.za

Any cancellation and applicable refund, credit or cancellation charge will be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African consumer law and the circumstances of the cancellation.

5. Rescheduling

Once a booking has been paid and confirmed, customers may not request to reschedule their booking as a general change of plans.

Each Little Mess Makers session is planned and prepared based on the number of confirmed children attending. This includes the preparation and purchase of materials, activity supplies, venue arrangements, staffing and the time required to prepare each session.

For this reason, rescheduling is only permitted in circumstances that Little Mess Makers considers to be reasonable and valid.

Valid circumstances may include:

  • Illness affecting the child or parent/guardian, particularly where attending the session may pose a health risk to others.
  • Weather conditions, where Little Mess Makers determines that the weather makes it unsafe or unsuitable to proceed with the session.
  • Other exceptional or reasonable circumstances, which will be considered by Little Mess Makers on a case-by-case basis.

Any request to reschedule must be made by contacting:

info@littlemessmakers.co.za

Rescheduling is:

  • Subject to availability.
  • Not automatically guaranteed.
  • At the discretion of Little Mess Makers, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
  • Limited to another available Little Mess Makers session.
  • Not transferable to another person without prior approval from Little Mess Makers.

Where a rescheduling request is approved, the original booking will be transferred to an available session.

The automatic rescheduling of a session due to insufficient minimum attendance is separate from customer-requested rescheduling and will not count as a customer-initiated rescheduling request.

If a customer chooses not to attend their confirmed session for reasons that do not qualify for an approved reschedule, the booking may be treated as a no-show and the amount paid may be forfeited, subject to applicable South African consumer law.

6. No-Shows

If you do not attend your booked session without contacting Little Mess Makers beforehand, your booking may be forfeited and the space may not be transferred to another session.

Where appropriate, Little Mess Makers may consider a rescheduling request at its discretion, subject to availability.

7. Arrival & Late Arrival

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled session to allow sufficient time for check-in.

Sessions will begin and end at the advertised times.

Late arrival does not entitle the customer to an extension of the session or a refund.

8. Parent/Guardian Supervision

Little Mess Makers is a parent-participation activity.

A parent, guardian or responsible adult must remain with and supervise their child/children for the entire session.

Little Mess Makers staff are not responsible for providing individual childcare or supervision.

The supervising adult remains responsible for the child/children in their care.

9. Age & Participation

Our activities are designed for children within the age range specified for each session.

Parents/guardians are responsible for determining whether an activity is appropriate for their child.

Some activities may involve materials that are messy, wet, slippery or otherwise unsuitable for certain children.

Please contact us before booking if you have concerns about whether a particular activity is suitable for your child.

10. Allergies & Medical Information

Parents/guardians must disclose any relevant allergies, medical conditions, sensitivities or other information that may affect their child’s participation.

Although Little Mess Makers takes reasonable precautions, our activities may involve a variety of ingredients and materials.

Parents/guardians remain responsible for informing Little Mess Makers of any known allergies or sensitivities before the session.

Where a child has a severe allergy or medical condition, please contact us before booking so that we can discuss whether the activity is suitable.

11. Messy Play

Messy play involves materials such as water, food-based ingredients, sensory materials, paint, mud and other activity materials depending on the session.

Children may become wet or dirty during the activity.

We recommend that children wear suitable clothing and bring a change of clothes where appropriate.

Little Mess Makers cannot guarantee that clothing or personal belongings will remain clean or undamaged during participation.

12. Health & Illness

For the safety of other children and families, please do not attend a session if your child is experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness or is otherwise unwell.

If your child becomes unwell during a session, the parent/guardian may be asked to leave the activity area.

Where a child is unable to attend due to illness, please contact Little Mess Makers as soon as possible to discuss available options for rescheduling.

13. Safety

Parents/guardians must follow all reasonable safety instructions given by Little Mess Makers staff.

Children must remain within the designated activity area unless accompanied by their parent/guardian.

Little Mess Makers reserves the right to stop a child from participating in a particular activity if we reasonably believe that the activity presents a safety risk to the child or others.

14. Damage to Property

Parents/guardians may be held responsible for deliberate or negligent damage caused by themselves or their child to Little Mess Makers equipment, venue property or other property.

15. Photography & Video

Little Mess Makers may take photographs or videos during sessions for marketing and social media purposes.

Where media consent has been provided, images may be used on Little Mess Makers’ social media platforms, website and promotional material.

Parents/guardians may request that their child not be photographed or featured in promotional material by notifying Little Mess Makers.

16. Changes to Sessions

Little Mess Makers reserves the right to change an activity, theme, venue, date or session time where reasonably necessary due to circumstances including weather, venue availability, safety concerns, insufficient minimum attendance, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where Little Mess Makers cancels or reschedules a session, affected customers will be contacted and offered an appropriate alternative, such as automatic rescheduling to another available session or a refund where required by applicable law.

17. Weather

Where sessions take place outdoors, activities may be adjusted, postponed or relocated where weather conditions create an unreasonable safety risk.

The decision to postpone, cancel or alter a session due to weather conditions will be made solely by Little Mess Makers.

Little Mess Makers will communicate any significant changes to affected customers as soon as reasonably possible.

18. Liability

Little Mess Makers takes reasonable steps to provide a safe and enjoyable environment.

However, participation in sensory and messy play activities carries ordinary risks associated with movement, water, materials, surfaces and interaction with activity equipment.

Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the session and must exercise reasonable care.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law.

19. Personal Information

Information collected during the booking process, including parent/guardian contact details and information relating to participating children, will be used for purposes reasonably necessary to process bookings, communicate with customers, manage sessions and provide the Little Mess Makers service.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable South African privacy legislation.

20. Acceptance of Terms

  • They understand that bookings are subject to limited capacity and minimum attendance requirements.
  • They understand that a booking is only confirmed once payment has been received and verified.
